Title of Text: Night of the Twisters Section 5
Minutes: 40
Summary: While Dan and Arthur tried to find Mrs. Smiley, they thought that she was already killed. When they arrived though, the house only lost its roof, and received a couple dents. Other than that, the house was in perfect condition. They looked all over the house, and they finally found her sleeping on the couch. Turns out, she never noticed the tornado. She felt very healthy and they tried getting her out. The kids brought Mrs. Smiley to a mini bus that will take her to a refuge to stay at. The kids on the other hand went on to a cop car with a cop named Kelly and he started bringing the kids to Kmart where they would provide the kids some clothes to wear. When they were headed over there, the radio started going crazy. People were telling Kelly to get out of the car but Kelly only told the kids to get down. Then, a vortex came by just missing them. The glass of the windows shattered and Kelly got a blow to the eyes. The kids were alright but Dan had to drive for Kelly because Kelly was loosing his sight. Dan had plenty of experience for driving from his family letting him drive the tractor. A connection I have with Dan is that when he heard all the voices layering on the radio, he felt like his ears were going to explode. I would feel the same way if I heard a million voices. A prediction i have is that Kelly will not be able to continue driving his car and the kids will get help from Kmart. A question I have is how could Mrs. Smiley possibly sleep through a tornado ripping her house apart? It is so weird.

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Reptile Room
Minutes: 90
Summary: Stephano came by and told the kids that he would be the one to take the kids to Peru. The kids were in shock and wanted to check with Uncle Monty. When they went to the Reptile Room, it was completely silent. The kids turned the lights on to see if he was hiding and when Klaus flipped the switch, there he was, sitting on the couch super still. His body was completely pale and there were two holes under his eye which may have meant that he got a snake bite. While the kids got into the car with Stephano and started driving to their transportation, they crashed into a car that they soon found out belonged to Mr. Poe. They all went back to the house and Stephano called a doctor over to check on Uncle Monty. While the doctor was checking on him, the kids looked for clues. Violet decided to make a lock pick and she later opened Stephano's suitcase. She found a bottle of poison, a needle, tickets to Peru, Uncle Monty's herpetologist member card, powder, and a mirror. Violet spent a lot of time trying to link them together until she came up with the perfect explanation. She figured that Stephano used the poison and the needle to kill Uncle Monty by stabbing him under the eye. Then, he stabbed a second hole to make it look like a snake bite. He would then use the member card so he can use the Peru ticket and get the kids to come with him alone. He also used the powder to hide the tattoo from his leg. He was really Count Olaf, the man trying to steal the Baudelaire fortune! They made sure by rubbing the man's ankle and there it was, the picture of an eye which was basically Count Olaf's logo. When Count Olaf tried to run for it, the doctor came with him. Sunny then bit the hand of the doctor off revealing that the doctor was really the hookman from Count Olaf's theater troupe. The kids were upset that they let go yet another criminal. A connection I have with the kids is how they felt so bummed out that they let go Count Olaf yet again. If I let a criminal escape multiple times, I would be very upset. A thing I saw in Violet is that throughout the series, Violet has become smarter and smarter and that she has become more confident in herself.

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Miserable Mill
Minutes: 70
Summary: The Baudelaire kids were riding a train that was leading them to their new owner. They were looking out the window and all they saw was a very ugly forest that seemed gray and lonely. When they arrived, they found a note saying that their new caretaker wants to see them in the dorm for the Lucky Smells Lumbermill. When they arrived, they found a bunch of adult men and woman on bunks playing cards. The kids were immediately put to sleep, but they didn't bother because all they could think of was their horrible past. The next thing they knew, they were quickly thrown to work. The kids had to debark 14 trees while facing back-breaking pain and the moist, sticky feeling of the factory's heat. When the lunch break finally came, the kids were disappointed. All they got was a square of gum. A small square. They also only got 5 minutes to chew. After the lunch break was over, everyone went back to work except for the kids. They had to pay a visit to the owner. The kids explained to the owner that they were put to harsh work and the owner said that it was all a huge mistake. Then, out of nowhere, a man came up and disagreed. He said that he was their new owner and that they would make a deal. The kids would work for their owner until they get the fortune in exchange for protection from Count Olaf and his buddies. The kids thought it was unfair but they didn't disagree. A connection I have with the kids is how they felt about their lame lunch break. I would feel the exact same way if I got 5 minutes to chew a small piece of gum. It doesn't seem fair at all. A question I have is why must the the foreman be so harsh to the workers? He wakes the people up very early, and doesn't give them decent meals! A thing I see in Sunny is that she always does her job. If she is directed to take the bark off a tree, she does anything she can to get it done

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Bad Beginning
Minutes: 45
Summary: Violet and Klaus were running out of time thinking of how they could save their baby sister Sunny while avoiding marrying Count Olaf. When they say their vows and say “I do.” Violet thinks harder then ever. Then, when she signs the marriage contract, she uses here non dominant hand, her left hand to sign. She proved that she didn't use her true hand and the marriage became invalid. Luckily for Violet and Klaus, Count Olaf told his worker to bring over the baby from the tower before she signed the contract. There was a reuniting when Sunny came and Count Olaf was steamed. Count Olaf was told that he would go to jail immediately. Then, suddenly, a man from Count Olaf's theater troupe turned off all the lights and caused everything to go haywire. As Violet struggled to find the light switch. Count Olaf came up and threatened her saying he would get the fortune soon no matter what. When Violet turned the lights back on, she found out that the theater troupe had escaped in a car. Justice Strauss said she would take care of the kids from now on but unfortunately, she wasn't allowed. In Violet's parents' will they wanted the three kids to be raised by a family member. Even though the kids wanted to stay with Justice Strauss, they had to separate. They would have to live with Mr. Poe until he found another family member. A connection I have with Klaus is how he was so worried about giving up the fortune and so anxious if Violet would do something to save them. I too would feel so worried and so desperate for someone to save me from becoming a “slave.” I would be willing to do anything! Something I saw in Violet throughout the book is how each character got involved. Sunny only popped in a couple times with silly words. Klaus was constantly thinking smart and sharing his ideas. Violet was most interesting because the more I read through the book, the more she started to get involved. I question the author by saying, why did you choose to make the characters unfortunate kids. Did you ever have a personal experience or did you just make up the characters? I would also like to compliment the author because he stuck to his title “Series of Unfortunate Events” very well by giving the kids a hard time and only giving them a few fortunate things.

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Wide Window
Minutes: 60
Summary: After receiving harsh treatment from Count Olaf, the kids move to a different relative named Aunt Josephine. She is a woman who is afraid of things like stoves burning, phones electrifying you, and other nonsense. One day, when Violet went out to shop for groceries, she bumped into a man dressed like a sailor. When she saw the shiny eyes and the uni-brow, she knew who it was- Count Olaf. He was disguised as a sailor named Captain Sham. Aunt Josephine and Count Olaf were talking and talking while Aunt Josephine had no clue. Aunt Josephine was being friendly to Captain Sham even though the kids tried to explain who it was. When they came home, the phone rang and Violet answered to show Aunt Josephine that it was not dangerous. When she answered it, she knew it was Count Olaf looking for Aunt Josephine. Violet said that he got the wrong number and quickly hung up. Violet lied to Aunt Josephine and said the caller was looking for some dance club and got the wrong number. Immediately, the phone rang again. This time Aunt Josephine answered. She then told the kids to go to their rooms because they were planning a surprise for them. The kids were starting to get suspicious about what was going. My prediction is that Count Olaf and Aunt Josephine will bring the kids to Lachrymose Lake and have a meal together. It is just that the lake is a big setting for the book, especially for Aunt Josephine, who's husband died there. I also think that while they are at the lake, Count Olaf will push Aunt Josephine overboard then force the kids to give up the fortune. A connection I have with Violet is what she did to get rid of Count Olaf. She just said that he got the wrong number then quickly hung up. I would do the same if I got an unwanted caller. Something I saw in Violet is that from the first book to this one, she seems to have gotten smarter. She is noticing things quicker and coming up with things more effectively which didn't happen much in book one. I would like to question the author and ask, why is the house right by the lake if she is so terrified. I mean, she used to like it as a friend, but no she is terrified so why doesn't she move? I would like to compliment the author on how creative he is being. He wasn't afraid of his books being cheesy and he always gave imaginative names which is cool.

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Wide Window
Minutes: 65
Summary: While the three kids were thinking of Aunt Josephine talking to Captain Sham, they heard a loud shattering noise. They checked her library and found a note pinned to the door. It was a suicide note saying she jumped through the window and killed herself because she was just too sad. They started to worry and entered the library and there it was in front of them, the window was shattered and only a few pieces remained attached. They were devastated. After that event, they started to study it. Klaus studied it the most. He worked very hard until he finally got onto something. He knew that Aunt Josephine was a fan of grammar and that any grammatical mistake would upset her. Klaus found all of the mistakes and he put together all of the letters she should have put in certain words. When he combined them, it spelled CURDLED CAVE. The kids thought it was a cave in Lachrymose Lake and they decided to look through Aunt Josephine's books to try and locate Curdled Cave. They thought she made those mistakes so the kids would follow her to Curdled Cave. Right when they found the location of Curdled Cave, they saw the wind picking up and thunderstorms raging. They checked out the window and noticed that one of the stilts that kept the house from falling in the lake was collapsing from the storm. They had little time to escape and survive. They had no choice but to leave and find Aunt Josephine. A connection I have with Klaus is how hard he checked to make sure the letter was some clue. If I saw a suicide letter, I would try to make sure that it was not serious or if it was a clue of some sort. It isn't funny to fake something serious like suicide. A prediction I have is that they will try to locate Curdled Cave because they want to save Aunt Josephine so they don't live with Captain Sham. Something I saw in Klaus is that in the two times I have spent reading the book, Klaus became more and more participative. He was quiet in the beginning but now, he has been acting smarter and he has given more of his ideas. A question I have for the author is why does Count Olaf want the fortune so bad? I want to know what he will do with the fortune if he gets it. Will he do something evil or will he think of it as money from the lottery? I would also like to compliment the author because he was very creative and clever to make the letter some sort of clue to the next location.

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Wide Window
Minutes: 30
Summary: The kids just managed to escape from the house which fell piece by piece into the lake. They decided to go to Captain Sham's sailboat place to borrow one and rescue Aunt Josephine. The kids felt so confident until they saw who was at the desk- one of the members in Count Olaf's theater troupe. It looked like neither a man or a woman. It was holding the keys to the gate which was locked. Their plan was basically blown. Then they suddenly noticed that Sunny had disappeared. They saw her inside the office approaching the thing with the keys. She got it and brought it back to her two happy siblings. When the kids started walking down to the gate, Violet sneezed and the thing woke up. Unfortunately, Sunny left some crawling marks leading to the door and the thing angrily followed the kids. It picked the kids up and started to bring them to the office when he suddenly tripped on the atlas the kids had dropped. The kids beat the thing to their feet and they picked up the atlas running for the open gate Klaus opened. They quickly jumped into a boat and looked back at an angry man/woman. The kids finally made it to the shore of Curdled Cave which looked like the open mouth of a beast. They heard a moaning from inside the cave and they entered cautiously. There, crying her heart out was Aunt Josephine. She was very happy to see the kids. She said they were going to live in the cave away from Captain Sham who was actually Count Olaf. The kids were shocked because they had no food. They decided to sail back. They were sailing when they noticed a bunch of little shapes underwater surrounding them; the Lachrymose Leeches. They wondered if anyone ate anything because the leeches only attack at anything with food on or in it. Aunt Josephine admitted she ate a banana and that's when they knew they were in for a tough trip home. A connection I have with the three Baudelaire kids was the fact that they were SO shocked that they were going to live there. I would be so mad if I went to rescue someone and end up living in that place with no food. Luckily, they got Aunt Josephine to sail back! Something I saw in Sunny is how she has always been just a small little character but now, she became a true hero. I never thought it would happen. A compliment I would like to give to the author is how he made Count Olaf a character who came up again and again and not just in one book. It was a very good idea that could not only make you think of many plots, but also make the books more exciting and exciting.

Title of Text: Transformers Prequel
Minutes: 50
Summary: Optimus Prime an Megatron were both brothers who protected the world of Cybertron. Then one day, something changed in Megatron that forced him to build an alliance of evil robots. Together, they were the Decepticons. Optimus took action by making the Autobots who fought for good. The allspark became what they fought for and soon, it got launched into space, Megatron followed it to Earth where he crash landed into the ice of Antarctica. Bumblebee, one of the Autobots tried to find the Allspark and has searched through many places in Earth. The war for the Allspark is still young but it is about to begin here on Earth. A connection I have with Megatron is how he followed the allspark. I as well would follow something I desire even if it meant taking an extreme risk. A prediction I have is that Bumblebee will be spotted by the humans while he searches for clues about the allspark.

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Bad Beginning
Minutes: 60
Summary: A group of kids named Klaus, Sunny (the baby) and Violet Baudelaire were people who always had bad luck. One day while they were at a beach, a man they knew named Mr. Poe came and told them their parents had died in a fire. The kids were then taken to their family member Count Olaf which they didn't know very well. They were told that Violet would get their parents' money once she was old enough. While living at Count Olaf's house, they weren't treated like human beings. Count Olaf ordered them to make dinner for him and his theater troupe which was 10 people already, plus the three of them was 13. They didn't know what or how to cook so they went over to their neighbor Justice Strauss and borrowed a cook book. They decided to make a sauce with spaghetti for a tasty pasta treat. When the troupe came home, Count Olaf demanded roast beef and the kids were shocked. The troupe was mad and they just got drunk from their wine instead of eating. Klaus eventually became enraged and shouted at Count Olaf. Count Olaf struck Klaus in the face and they went to bed. A connection I have with Klaus is that just like him, I would become enraged if someone got me very mad. A prediction I have is that the kids will try to plan an escape from Count Olaf so they can get away from their harsh treatment and try to live by themselves. A question I have is why did Count Olaf get so mad about them not cooking roast beef if he didn't even tell them to? It doesn't seem fair for the kids.

Title of Text: Series of Unfortunate Events-The Bad Beginning
Minutes: 90
Summary: When the Baudelaire kids woke up, they went to the kitchen and found Count Olaf waiting. Count Olaf was talking about how he was sorry for the way he acted and that he should try again. He made them some oatmeal and they ate wondering if it was poisoned. Count Olaf then said that he would like the kids to star in his play the Marvelous Marriage. When Count Olaf left, the kids went over to Justice Strauss and borrowed some books because they thought Count Olaf was up t something. Klaus read one of the books all night and read that a possible plan is that when Violet says “I do.” in her part, Count Olaf would actually marry her and then take the inheritance of the Baudelaire family. Klaus woke up early and when he saw Count Olaf come down, he felt very confident. He explained what he thought was Count Olaf's plan was and Count Olaf said that Klaus got him. He told Klaus to tell his sisters and he did. First, he woke up Violet and broke the news which shocked Violet. Then, when they went to get Sunny, they didn't find her anywhere near. They noticed Count Olaf in the doorway. They followed him outside to the backyard and there, they found a birdcage hanging at the top of a tall tower. In the birdcage was none other than Sunny. Count Olaf said that Violet has to marry Count Olaf or Sunny will be dropped thirty feet right to the solid ground. Violet said yes and the day of the play came fast. Violet and Klaus were putting their costumes on thinking hard about what they can do to stop the marriage. The ultimate problem is building up fast. Violet must marry Count Olaf and give up the inheritance or Sunny will receive a gigantic plunge to the ground and time is ticking away. Violet has to do anything to save her inheritance and Sunny. A connection I have with Violet is how she gave up for the safety of Sunny. I would give up anything to make sure my younger sister is safe. A prediction I have is that Violet will run out of time and she will marry Count Olaf. A question I have is why must Count Olaf be such a sick man. He is being so dirty by threatening someone with a baby's death.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid-Rodrick Rules
Minutes: 45
Summary: Rodrick's science fair project was due soon but he spent his time stalling and watching TV. He then came up with an idea from one of his shows. It said that when you are in space, you grow taller. Rodrick spent a long time trying to finish but when he handed it in, it was not accepted. They said it didn't have the scientific process involved. Then Rodrick heard about the talent show and started forgetting about anything else. On the day of the show, Rodrick's band was being taped by mom because Greg did not accept. When they performed, mom started dancing so they couldn't see what was happening. They later watched the school's tape and the only thing they taped was mom dancing. Rodrick was depressed for a while and he was mad at Greg. He decided to whip out Greg's biggest secret. He told all his friends that one time at a hotel, he accidentally got trapped in the women's bathroom. Somehow, the details got mixed up and people thought Greg was a spy that watched girls in the bathroom. Greg suddenly became famous except to the girls. Greg also felt bad about Rodrick failing to get a video so he decided to help him on his project for the last time. They spent all day and actually came up with good results. Greg was famous, and Rodrick had something to turn in for the science fair. It looked like they were equal.

Title of Text: Stormbreaker
Minutes: 55
Summary: Alex Rider is an average kid with an uncle named Ian Rider. One day, he got news from “funeral voices” telling him that his uncle had died in a car accident. In school, many kids were staring at him because they probably felt bad. After school, Alex went to the main office and borrowed a copy of the yellow pages. He wanted to look for any near by junkyards to try and find his uncle's car. He saw one with the title Stryker and Son, the same name he saw on the van holding his uncle's coffin. He rode his bike to the junkyard, parked, and started searching. When he started to give up, he finally found the car, a BMW. He didn't see anything wrong except for a broken window, but when he looked at the other side, he froze. The car had bullet holes all over the side. All Alex wanted to find out was who shot the car. When Alex decided to leave, some guys spotted him. One tried to strangle him, but with a kick to the stomach, Alex broke free. When Alex arrived, he noticed that his uncle's office was unlocked, which it usually wasn't. When he came in, the room was entirely empty, except for the tables, bookcases, and furniture. All his papers and materials—gone. He was shocked at what had happened. A connection I have with Alex is that when he saw his uncle's office empty, he was shocked. I as well would be frozen if I saw a whole room full one day ago, and completely empty the next day.
A question I have is who shot the car that Ian Rider was in? I am itching to know. A prediction I have is that Alex will soon find out who killed his uncle.

Title of Text: Stormbreaker
Minutes: 110
Summary: When Alex came home the next day, he noticed a group of people inside the house investigating. Some people were talking to him then said that they were going to check his Uncle's office. Alex was wondering what was going on so he decided to climb down the flag pole to the window of his office. When he came inside, the two guys talking to him came as if they were expecting him. At that moment, the guard pulled out his gun and shot him with a poison dart. When he woke up, he was in a lab and the guys who talked to him explained that his uncle worked for them. They also thought he was brave so they decided to recruit him to the group. They chose him because of his impressive karate skills and the fact that he risked his life to satisfy his curiosity. Alex was assigned to the group K Squad. The members were Wolf, Bear, Eagle, and Snake. Wolf was the leader and they didn't like each other. One time in a practice mission, before Alex completed it, Wolf pushed him back, causing him to set off the trip line. He sat there as the stun grenade made him momentarily blind. When Alex came outside looking beat up, Wolf got punished with clean up. In their next training, they had to jump off a plane, except for Alex because of his age. Alex noticed that Wolf was afraid of going down. Alex kicked him a couple times and Wolf went down. When Alex met up with him on the ground, Wolf thanked him. They seemed to make up considering the fact that they shook hands. A connection I have with Alex is how he helped Wolf off the plane. If I were Alex, I would give Wolf a push and get him off. It was the right thing to do and it helped Wolf. A question I have is what made Wolf suddenly like Alex? Before he left the plane, they hated each other, but after the drop, they were friends. It was weird.

Title of Text: Secret of the Spiritkeeper
Minutes: 45
Summary: Zendric's student Kellach grabbed a colorful ball when Zendric quickly took it back and shouted at him. He kicked him and his friend Driskoll out of the building. While they were leaving, they began to get chased by giants. Kellach and Driskoll stop after running a far distance. Luckily, 'watchers” or “the police” came and told the giants to stop. They went away and the kids were safe. While heading home, they decided to drop by Zendric's building. When they came in, they found Zendric lying on the floor with a busted lip and his eyes shut. My prediction is that Zendric will soon be thought of as a dead man but later “magically” come back to life and start teaching Kellach more magic. A question I have is how did Zendric get into his deep sleep? I'm very curious. My opinion on this book so far is that it is a fascinating book. Plenty of action which is my favorite, and an interesting plot so far.

Title of Text: Secret of the Spiritkeeper
Minutes: 45
Summary: At first Kellach and Driskoll thought he was dead but some watchers came in a couple minutes later and said he was in a deep sleep. The kids were relieved but Driskoll's father took them outside and had an angry tirade. The kids couldn't bear to hear his shouting any longer. A couple minutes later, a priest named Lexos actually tried to call his soul to return. He said that his soul has went away. Kellach and Driskoll later leave and decide that they should try to find Zendric's soul. A connection I have with Driskoll and Kellach is that they both thought that Zendric was dead at first. My first thought would be the same. My prediction is that Kellach will join a special force called Knights of the Silver Dragon and search for Zendric's soul. My opinion on this book is that it is great. I love how Kellach is doing everything in his power to get Zendric back.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid II-Rodrick Rules
Minutes: 45
Summary: Greg, the main character has a new journal and starts off with swim class. He said that he doesn't like his swim meets because of many reasons. He once pulled a prank on a kid named Chirag Gupta by acting like he was invisible when he came back to school. Soon, Greg had to go to the principle's office but luckily, he got off the hook. When he came home though, his mom got a call and Greg tried to lie his way out. Turned out, Greg failed. He later had to apologize to Chirag and they made up. Two days later, Rowley (Greg's best friend) had his birthday party. Rowley and Greg were the only 5th graders there. The rest were tiny kids from Rowley's karate club. Greg thought the party was weird. Greg bought Rowley a video game. Later, Rowley (Greg's brother) and Greg both complained that they were running out of money so their mm made a plan called mommy bucks. When they turned in mommy bucks, they got one cent each. Greg wasn't so sure but decided to save his. A connection I have with Greg is how he felt around such small kids. If I were at my friend's b-day party with a lot of little kids, I would feel a slight feeling of weirdness. A question I have is why doesn't Rowley have many friends as old as him. It just seems weird. A prediction I have is that Greg will turn in mommy bucks and get a fine stack of money. My opinion on this book is that it is funny which I expected. Many jokes throughout the pages I read. I recommend it to everyone because it has a lot of laughs.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid II-Rodrick Rules
Minutes: 70
Summary: When Greg's parents were going to leave the house, Rodrick faked being sick. When they left, Rodrick got up and called all his friends to party. Greg was about to tell his parents but decided to instead, try and get in the party. Sadly, Greg got tricked and he was left locked outside of the room. A couple hours later everyone left, then Greg and Rodrick had a quick clean up. They had to replace Rodrick's door because someone wrote on it. When the parents came home, the dad poked around everywhere to make sure everything was okay. They seemed clear but then the dad noticed the door seemed different. He then decided that he might just be seeing things. Rodrick knew that if dad started questioning, Rodrick could always use lying unlike Greg who wasn't so good. A couple days later, Greg met Rowley's new “babysitter” Leland. They all played a game called “Magick and Monsters.” (They really spell it as magick) When Greg's mom came over to make sure the game was okay, Greg felt so restricted because he couldn't use any violence. He was under intense pressure. A connection I have with Greg is how much pressure he felt when he played near his mom. If I were playing that game and my mom or dad was watching me, I would feel like I couldn't do anything. My prediction is that either mom or dad will somehow find out about the party and that Greg and Rodrick will be busted for a long time. A question I have is why would someone draw on a door in the first place? It's weird for someone to draw on a door as a teenager.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Minutes: 45
Summary: Once after school, Rowley and Greg were on the blacktop when a bunch of teenagers started grabbing Greg and Rowley. Some of the teenagers actually made Rowley eat the cheese that was sitting at their school for a year. Rowley was disgusted but Greg found a way to get away from eating it. A couple days after that, Rowley has been hanging out with his new friend. Then, on the blacktop at recess, a bunch of kids noticed the cheese was gone. Rowley started to shake because he was scared of what would happen. Then, Greg decided to say that he was the one who touched the cheese and that he had the cheese touch. Everyone ran away because if Greg touched them, they would get the cheese touch. Rowley was so thankful and they ended up becoming friends again. A connection I have with Greg is how he saved Rowley. I may not have done it the same way Greg did, but I would certainly try to help a friend. My opinion on this book is a 10 out of 10. It definitely had a lot of laughs and each page was fun to read. I recommend this book to everyone.

Title of Text: The Best School Year Ever
Minutes: 70
Summary: This book started off introducing the Herdman family. This family is full of kids who are mean and who smoke. One of the kids was bad because he put his cat in a washing machine! When it came out, it growled at everyone while wearing a tablecloth. It later caused another problem by crawling up trees and making people call 911. Awkwardly, the child barely got in trouble. The kid only got a talk with his parents. Another kid named Leroy had a weird story. He got bit by a snake once and then kept the snake which eventually died. He pulled a prank on a teacher because he sneaked the snake into a closet. When the teacher opened it, she and the kids burst into screams. The principal had to come and calm everyone down. Then, Leroy went at it again by sharpening the dead snake! It made everyone afraid to get near the sharpener. The next day, he skipped school to bury his snake underground as its funeral. He later ended up being Student of the Month. His mother seemed highly confused and he didn't get in trouble at all luckily. A connection I have with Leroy's mother is how she reacted to Leroy's whole incident. If I learned he earned Student of the Month, I would be proud, just like his mother. A question I have is what caused them to be so bad? They are young but they smoke and they make a lot of bad choices. A prediction I have is that they will share more about the Herdman kids. It's just that they have not explained all the kids but they already mentioned two. My opinion on this book so far is an 7 out of 10. Not much action yet so I can't give it a 10. Action is what I love in a book.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid-The Last Straw
Minutes: 80
Summary: Greg Heffley is a kid who tried to one day, help his family with their New Year's Resolution. He couldn't manage to help anyone though. A couple days of boredom later, he and his friend Rowley decided to make a time capsule and bury it. At Greg's house, there was someone stealing snacks so they had to all eat fruit. For snacktime, Greg got upset, and he couldn't buy anything because he didn't have any more money. In his classes, he completely zoned out because he didn't have energy without sweets. He later decided to take the money they had put in the time capsule. He was upset that he had to mess with it. He managed a soda, a candy bar, and a bag of gummy bears out of a vending machine. A week later, the dance came up, and Greg tried to ask his crush to dance with him. When he came close, a guy came up and stopped him in his tracks. A connection I have is about how long their time capsule lasted. If I made a time capsule, I would get give up and dig it up in about a couple days. A prediction I have is that Greg will try to ask his crush to hang out because I think he felt bad about missing out on his chance at the dance. A question I have is why would anyone steal the snacks anyway? It's not like the person or people aren't getting any.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid-The Last Straw
Minutes: 50
Summary: Greg's dad thinks he needs to whip Greg into shape. He decides to sign him up for soccer, but Greg doesn't like it. His team won the first two games but lost in the third because Greg got distracted by flowers. Later, his dad brought Greg and Rodrick to the movie theater. The guy taking tickets was actually a teenager who attended Spag Union, a military school. When they leave, Greg's dad says that he will sign him up. Greg tries everything in his power to stop him and he decides to go to Boy Scouts. On his first day, he earns a whittling badge. When he shows his dad, he gets impressed, but when the father-son camping trip comes, dad gets upset about how Greg can't come and how he has to be stuck with 2 teenagers that horse around. For a couple days, Greg and his dad barely spoke to each other. A connection I have with Greg is about how he tried hard to not go to Spag Union. If I were threatened to go there, I would come up with as many other good ideas as I can. A prediction I have is that Greg's father will make Greg quit Boy Scouts and join Spag Union. A question I have is why is Greg's dad being so forceful? He's making him do a lot of things just to get in shape. I think he needs to slow down a bit. My opinion on the book is that this book is hilarious. In some pages, the dialogue is so funny. I can't stop reading. I hope there is a next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid-The Last Straw
Minutes: 50
Summary: Greg, his dad, and Rodrick go on a fun trip to camp but since it was raining, they decided to go to a hotel. That didn't work out either because Rodrick just had to pull a prank on Greg. When they came home, Greg's dad seemed very serious about sending him to Spag Union. A couple days later, the Heffley family went to their neighbor's house to celebrate the birthday of their baby. All the adults lined up so they could try to make the baby laugh. They do this because they want to be on America's Funniest Families. Right when they start, Manny messes with the gifts and throws one up a tree. Greg tries to get it and when Greg's dad's turn comes, Greg's pants suddenly fall down, showing his Wonder Woman underoos. Luckily, they get it on tape and submit it. That's when the Heffleys leave. The next day, Greg woke up wondering why he isn't being shipped off yet. He sees his dad downstairs- not dressed yet. It seems that Greg's dad was so thankful that he won't ship Greg off to Spag Union. Greg was happy and he thought everything was going his way again.

Title of Text: Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Minutes: 90
Summary: Greg Heffley is a boy who got this journal from his mom. He writes in it whenever something important happens. One time, he ran for treasurer, but he lost to a very smart person. In his gym class, the teacher decided to have a wrestling unit. Everyone but Greg is able to fight. Greg thinks that he needs to buff up. He thinks that when they have a football unit, he would be glad to be on the skins teams. A couple of days later, he loses interest and decides to go back to playing video games. His mom suddenly signs Greg up for the play because she thinks it is good to experiment. Greg was so not with the idea that when the day of the show was on, he ruined it and the play had to be shut down. Halloween came around and Greg came with his best friend Rowley. They lost some time because of their dad talking to others but they made up some of it by ditching his dad. On their way back though, some kids splashed their candy so when they came home, they only had a couple of sweets. On Christmas, Manny, his little brother got every single thing he wanted for Christmas. Greg, on the other hand only got a sweater and a book. He was pretty upset. When he came in the garage though, his dad was next to a weight lifting set. Greg lost the spirit but instead of being psyched about it, he simply thanked him. A prediction I have is that Greg will just go to Rowley's house to have fun instead. A question I have is why does Greg get all the lame gifts? It doesn't seem fair. Even Rodrick got what he wanted!
